HEART attack!

News Hub: Why You Can Die of a Broken Heart 2/8/2010

New research shows that dying of a broken heart isn’t just a metaphor. WSJ’s Ron Winslow talks with Simon Constable about studies that show real, and sometimes fatal, changes can occur in the heart after a traumatic breakup or death of a loved one.

Watch video here !

I totally didn’t watch the video, for all that scientific information which makes my knees wobble at the thought of it. However, the thought of dying from a broken heart is pretty much for all the Bellas and Edwards out there. Or those people in chinese or korean dramas, for that matter.

Photos from my Mum’s birthday last year

As you can see, the quality is quite bad! Taken with my dad’s Nikon PNS. Seriously, I can’t understand why it is so lousy when their DSLRs are stellar.

Family Photo, at the place in Jurong. I think it was at SAFRA?

Yes, we k-BOXED. And at an exorbitant price too!

I remb I had a stomache that day and couldn’t fully appreciate the tiramitsu cake my dad got for my mum. I feel like eating cake now. Somehow, I always seem to have a stomache, sore throat, feel a sore throat coming or feel fat whenever I eat something yummy. D’oh!

Yawn.

I got an interview with Elizabeth Arden for an internship. The pay is $500, which is peanuts compared to the ridiculous amount interns get for working at banks. Yes, even today, after the horrid credit crunch.

Still, I really hope I can get it. There are quite a few applicants from SMU alone when I sent in my resume and cover letter. PPFM! (Please pray for me!)

I have quite a number of things to do and my head feels pretty heavy. Still, I tell myself to appreciate school and not having to work. Now, if only I can translate my somewhat positive attitude to studying and doing my work!

Point to Ponder:

If every email you sent cost you something, would you stop sending so many redundant, email inbox-flooding messages?

Haha, that was not a response to any matter for a fact.

Random

I just got reminded that Valentine’s Day coincides with Chinese new Year this year. Doesn’t mean anything to me but it suddenly struck me that the florists would be quite adversely affected. Think of all the lost revenue from secondary school kids who buy  flowers for friends. And guys who finally have a reason not to spend a gazillion dollars on a bouquet of flowers. Well, maybe they still would. Idk. So maybe the florists still can earn V’day dollars. But then again, instead of having 2 separate occasions where people buy flowers from them, the 2 events are merged but they probably only still have the same amount of manpower so they might not be able to accommodate as many orders as they would like.

Yes, people do buy flowers on CNY, for their homes or clients.

Super bowl is starting in less than 24 hours? Like I even want to watch the sport. It’s just that super bowl is the time when the coolest ads are shown. Now how do I get access to them?

LX3

D’oh. I am still lusting over the Panasonic LX3 though it would be such an extravagance! I’m not a photographer and my course of work (school) doesn’t require me to take photographs. And I’m not the “friend who always has a camera on hand”. You know the one who takes photos each time you meet up and uploads them really fast. Like after you’ve arrived home and have finished your shower, you find yourself tagged to the photos taken of you just an hour ago. Also, I have my mum’s camera which she doesn’t use all the time so I have it most of the time. And the camera is not cheap and there are many cheaper alternatives.

Iffff I do, do I buy it new or 2nd hand?

Which is why I’ve been drooling over the LX3 for perhaps more than a year already. Haha. On another note, I’ve purchased a card reader AND a thumbdrive. Whee! Now I just need photos to upload and print. No fear, CNY is around the corner. I got my dresses last year. And it wasn’t even like December. I bought one of them in October or November! Just tried it on and it still fits. Good.

Today is Lyd’s last full day in Singapore. :S

Today is the Muay Thai IVPs. Didn’t get to watch it but it doesn’t matter. That gives me more time to do things at my own pace.
